First of all, let me say that the colors of all the pigment pastes are so vibrant and beautiful, I would have given a 6 star rating but when I opened the Pearl White to use it and went to stir it, it was so think!!! I mean so think that I can't even reach the bottom of the container to stir it . The clumps are so big and stuck so tightly to the spoon I can't even scrape them off the spoon. It's like mixing up Bondo. And there are so many clumps that the whole thing is nothing but hugh clumps and little clumps throughout the whole pot of color. The same goes for the Midnight Blue and the Blue Diamond. Please help me! Is there anything I can do to loosen up all the clumps? Or could you please replace those colors for me? I just love the colors! Thank-you Judy V.
Hi Judy,
Thank you for your feedback.
Our pigment pastes are highly concentrated, which is what gives them their strong, vibrant colour. Because of this high pigment load, some settling and compaction can occur during storage and transit, particularly with pearl and luster pigments.
We have checked the same batches of Pearl White, Blue Diamond and Midnight Blue currently on our shelves, and all three returned to a smooth, even consistency after being stirred thoroughly.
For best results, we recommend using a flat paddle pod mixing stick, stirring slowly through the softer paste at the top and gradually working your way down, gently loosening the settled pigment from the sides and bottom. Cold conditions during transit can also make the paste feel firmer, so allowing the jar to warm to room temperature before stirring can help.
We have contacted you directly with further guidance.
Kind Regards,
The Just Resin Team
