Art Resin Designed for Epoxy Resin Artists

Our art resin is a two part epoxy resin system specifically formulated by artists for artists. When art resin is mixed, the resin and hardener will cure to produce a stable, glossy hard coating that is UV resistant. This art epoxy is a crystal clear formula and is jam packed with value. The art resin epoxy system offers great value, with a straightforward two-part system at a reasonable cost. It creates an enduring finish that protects your work for years and is simple to mix and apply. The resin’s low viscosity allows it to be moved around with minimal effort and great effect when heat is applied. The ease of use with our art resin continues with its longer pot life, which works better in cold weather, and produces amazing definition due to its thinness. Working with thicker products on larger artworks becomes difficult as they need to be heated out with a butane torch to thin out the resin and move it around. With its thinner composition, you can achieve different results than thicker, 1:1 ratio products for various types of artwork.

Here's how to create with the Art Resin epoxy system:

Begin by mixing 2 parts of the Resin (Part A) to 1 parts hardener (Part B) by volume in a calibrated cup or jug. Slowly stir the mixture until it becomes clear and uniform without streaks.

Next, pour the mixed resin onto your work surface. Use a spreader or gloved hand to evenly coat your project. Be sure to cover all areas evenly and completely, you can then remove any air bubbles by using a butane torch to lightly sweep the torch over the surface making sure not to leave the flame in any given spot.

Allow the resin to cure for at least 24 hours before handling. Once cured, your artwork will be protected from UV rays, yellowing, and water damage.

    Tips On Using Art Resin

Our best value art resin Australia, is designed to be user-friendly and affordable, and we've put together some tips to help you get the most out of using our epoxy art resin for art and crafts.

Before you begin, make sure you have all the tools and materials you'll need:

    - Art resin kit

    - Spirit level

    - A silicone mat or plastic drop sheet

    - Artboard

    - Mixing cups and stir sticks

    - Small cups or stand for Artboard

    - Gloves

Now that you're all set, here are a few tips on using resin for art:

    1. Start by mixing your resin and hardener with a 2:1 ratio by volume. Use one of your mixing cups to measure out the amount of hardener first, then measure the resin in the same cup, easiest way to calculate how much of each is needed is to double the amount of hardener you have added to the cup for example 100mls of hardener will need 200mls of resin. Now you can start mixing the resin/hardener, be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the cup as you stir, mix until the mixture is uniform and clear without any streaks.

    2. Once your resin is mixed, it's time to start pouring! There is no real way on how to start or where to start, we recommend pouring from the centre out over the surface of the artboard. Then, using your gloved hand or a brush you can spread the resin out evenly or with gloved hands you can pick up the artboard and tilt to spread it out. Continue pouring and spreading until you've covered your entire piece and are happy with the final design, just remember if the artboard is not level the resin may gather to one side and can also pour off the artboard completely.

    3. If you're working with multiple colours, repeat steps 1 & 2 for each colour you'd like to use. When you're finished, allow the resin to cure for 24 hours before handling or displaying your piece.
